The guests are on their way, and you only have half an hour to put together a crowd-pleasing appetizer!!! No problem. Sausage Balls only require three or four ingredients and can be whipped up in a snap. The meaty, herby taste of sausage mixes with the tangy creaminess of cheddar to make a juicy and filling snack that both satisfies and has people coming back for more. Served with your favorite dipping sauce, and resistance will be futile! Don’t be surprised if you start serving these as a side or even the main course; they’re just that good!

• 1 pound sausage, uncooked • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded • 2 1/2 cups baking mix, such as Bisquick • dipping sauce, optional, of your choice, for serving

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F.

Step 2

Mix the sausage, cheddar cheese, and baking mix in a large mixing bowl. You can use either a spatula or your hands. It should come to a consistency not unlike dough.

Step 3

Roll the sausage mixture into balls, around 1 inch to 1 ⅔-inch rounds.

Step 4

Place the sausage balls on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Step 5

Bake for 25 minutes.

Step 6

Remove from the oven and transfer to a serving plate.

Step 7

Serve with your ideal dipping sauce.
