Ingredients• 2 cups strawberries, measured exactly, fully ripe, stems removed, and crushed • 4 cups granulated sugar • 3/4 cup water • 1 (1.75 ounce) box fruit pectin
Rinse and dry the containers you are going to put the jam in, at least 5 cups.
In a large mixing bowl, mix the crushed strawberries and the sugar, adding the sugar in one cup at a time and stirring really well after each interval.
Allow the strawberry to stand for 10 minutes, stirring every once in a while.
Add the water and pectin into a small pan.
Bring the pectin mixture up to a boil over a high heat, stirring constantly.
When it reaches a boiling, stir it for 1 minute.
Move the pectin mixture from the heat and add it into the strawberry mixture, combing the mixture well and stirring for several minutes until the sugar is dissolved.
Fill up the containers with the strawberry jam, leaving about 1/2-inch of space at the top.
Put on the lids and let it stand at room temperature for 24 hours.
After 24 hours you can then store the jam in the fridge for 4 weeks or freeze it for a year, serving it whenever you want!
