• 2 pounds flank steak • 1/3 cup olive oil • 1/3 cup soy sauce • 1/4 cup honey • 1/4 cup red wine • 3 cloves garlic, minced • 1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper, or regular ground black pepper • salt, to taste • pepper, to taste


Step 1

Score the surface of the steak against the grain, with the scores 1-inch apart and 1/4-inch deep.

Step 2

Combine the olive oil, soy sauce, honey, red wine, garlic, and lemon pepper in a large resealable freezer bag.

Step 3

Add the steak to the bag and shake to coat well.

Step 4

Place the bag in the fridge to chill for at least 2 hours and up to overnight.

Step 5

Preheat the grill to high heat.

Step 6

Place the steak on the grill.

Step 7

Season the steak with salt and pepper.

Step 8

Grill until the steak reaches a medium-rare internal temperature of 135 degrees F, about 3-5 minutes per side.

Transfer the steak to a plate and wrap it with foil to rest for 5 minutes.

Slice the steak against the grain in thin, diagonal slices.
