Delicious Turkey Melts

Delicious Turkey Melts take leftover turkey and turn it into a melty, cheesy, crispy lunch.With pickles for a touch of sour and bacon for a touch of extra indulgence, Delicious Turkey Melts are luxurious and comforting all at once. They even come with smokiness and tang from barbeque sauce. Get ready to fully enjoy these stacked sandwiches.


• 2 medium onions, sliced • 4 tablespoons butter, divided • 4 tablespoons barbecue sauce • 8 slices sourdough bread • 8 slices Monterey Jack cheese • 8 slices Canadian bacon • 8 slices turkey, cooked • dill pickle slices, optional, to taste


Step 1

In a large skillet, saute the onions in 1 tablespoon of the butter until tender, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 2

Transfer the onions to a plate and set them aside.

Step 3

Spread the barbecue sauce on four slices of the bread.

Step 4

Layer each slice of bread with one slice of the cheese, 2 slices of the Canadian bacon, 2 slices of the turkey, the pickles, and the cooked onions.

Step 5

Top the sandwich filling with another slice of cheese.

Step 6

Cover each sandwich with the remaining slices of bread.

Step 7

In the same skillet over medium-low heat, melt the remaining tablespoons of the butter as needed.

Cook sandwiches on both sides until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
