Ingredients
• 8 strips bacon • 1 pound ground beef • 2 teaspoons garlic powder • 2 teaspoons salt • 2 teaspoons pepper • 4 slices American cheese • 2 hamburger buns • 2 tablespoons ketchup • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise For the optional toppings: • lettuce, chopped, to taste • tomato, chopped, to taste • onions, chopped, to taste • pickles, chopped, to taste • mustard, to tasteDirections
Cook the bacon on a sheet tray for 10 minutes at 450 degrees F.
Form 4 equal ground beef patties from the ground beef.
Season both sides of the patties with the garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Over high heat in a skillet, cook the patties on both sides until cooked to desired doneness, starting at 135 degrees F for medium-rare, about 2 minutes per side. .
Before removing from the pan, add one slice of cheese to each patty.
Build each burger by placing 1 patty on the bottom of a bun.
Add 2 pieces of bacon to the burger.
Place another patty on top of the bacon, followed by another layer of bacon.
Add a tablespoon of ketchup and mayo, along with any other desired toppings, to the burger.
Repeat with the second burger.
Serve.
