Candied Nuts

You have true affection for these homemade confections! Candied Nuts are wonderfully crunchy and sweet snacks perfect for plating with cheeses and smoked meats or just enjoying by the handful. The coating has cinnamon warmth and floral vanilla notes to enhance the delectable nuttiness of these treats. Candied Nuts are great for gifts as well: people will be thanking you for making them something so delicious!


• 3/4 cup sugar • 1 teaspoon cinnamon • 1/2 teaspoon salt • 1 egg white • 1 teaspoon vanilla • 1 tablespoon water • 1 pound raw nuts, of your choice


Step 1

Heat oven to 250 degrees F.

Step 2

Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Make sure the paper is large enough to slightly hang off the edges of the pan.

Step 3

In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cinnamon and salt.

Step 4

In a mixing bowl, combine the egg white, vanilla, and water, whisking until the mixture is foamy, about 1 minute.

Step 5

Add the nuts to the egg white mixture and stir until the nuts are well coated.

Step 6

When the nuts are well coated in the egg white mixture, add the sugar mixture to the bowl and stir until the nuts are well coated.

Step 7

Pour the nuts onto the lined baking sheet, spreading them out in a single layer.

Step 8

Put the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for a total of 60 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes and flattening the nuts into a single layer again. Remove from the oven and let cool. Serve!
